Wadandi Surf Academy

Pindari proudly partnered with the Wadandi Surf Academy in December 2023 to provide surfing lessons for Aboriginal students from Busselton Senior High School, Cape Naturaliste College and Margaret River Senior High School.

The Wadandi Surf Academy has become an annual institution, designed to empower these students, and forge a deeper connection to country. The students earn their place in the academy throughout the year if they have good standing and school attendance.

Founded by George and Vilma Webb and championed by the Undalup Association Inc., the Wadandi Surf Academy has grown with the support of Gwen Gray, a local Custodian and long-standing Aboriginal Education Liaison Officer with the Busselton Senior High School.

We believe supporting this project is a natural fit for Pindari. We’re committed to leaving a positive impact through the work we do, how we work, how we empower our people and give back to our communities.

Koongamia Football Club

Pindari continues to increase our community investments to strengthen our relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and supporting community outreach services.

We have proudly sponsored the Perth based Koongamia Football Club since 2018 which now has 3 teams including the female team “Yorka” who also wear the Pindari logo on their jerseys. Pindari was drawn to their strong ethic of utilising football as a medium to provide support, inclusion, reformation, and a positive environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of all age groups and abilities.

Wanderers Junior Football Club

Pindari is a major sponsor of Busselton’s Wanderers Junior Football Club in 2023 and 2024, supporting the grassroots junior football club’s Indigenous round celebrations. Founded in 1964, The Wanderers JFC has provided a positive, family friendly environment for junior boys and girls to learn the game of Australian Rules Football. WJFC have taken steps to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate past and present Indigenous players, families, coaches and members.

Busselton Surf Life Saving Club

The Busselton Surf lifesaving club has significant involvement in all of the water based events that take place in Busselton throughout the year, including the Busselton Jetty Swim, Ironman WA and the Busselton 100 Triathlon. Surf Lifesaving Volunteers patrol the South West for over 2000 hours in Summer, with a significant number of rescues during the warmer months. The vast majority of these water safety volunteers are teenagers from the Busselton Community.

In recognition of their time and efforts, Pindari has partnered with Busselton Surf club and donated money towards their youth development program and this year the funds were allocated towards a competition ready racing board which the youths are able to use for training, state competitions and water safety during these events.
